2 John 1
- 1The elder to the elect lady and her children, who I love in the truth, and not I only, but also all those who have known the truth.
- 2For the truth's sake, which lives in us, and shall be with us forever.
- 3Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
- 4I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children living in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
- 5And now I urge you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
- 6And this is love, that we live according to his commandments. This is the commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you should live in it.
- 7For many deceivers have entered the world who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.
- 8Watch yourselves, so that we do not lose what we have worked for, but receive a full reward.
- 9Whoever goes too far and does not remain in Christ's teaching does not have God. Whoever remains in Christ's teaching has both the Father and the Son.
- 10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive that person into your house or welcome them.
- 11For whoever welcomes that person shares in their evil deeds.
- 12I have many things to write to you, but I do not want to write with paper and ink. Instead, I hope to come to you and speak face to face, so that our joy may be full.
- 13The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.
What changed from the KJV
GIGAKJV is a modern English revision of the King James Version. The comparison below uses the project's KJV text in the later 1769 tradition and marks, word by word, each verse of 2 John 1 where the wording differs: struck-through words are the KJV's, highlighted words are GIGAKJV's.
