Welcome to GIGAKJV

Mission
To make the Bible readable in clear modern English while preserving its meaning, imagery, speakers, and historical setting.
King James Foundation
The working English source follows the later KJV tradition commonly identified with 1769. It is not a transcription of the 1611 printing.
Original-Language Study
Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek evidence informs contextual review. A Strong's number is a study aid; it cannot establish a word's meaning without its sentence and setting. A complete source-language review is still in progress.
Meaning Before Style
Clear wording must preserve commands, promises, questions, conditions, and uncertainty. No theological explanation is added to a verse as though it were part of the source.
Preserved Voices
Pronouns and possessives retain their referents. A promise about another person is not automatically rewritten as a promise addressed to the reader.
Study Material
Front matter, glossary notes, devotionals, and chapter insights are editorial commentary. They are separate from the translated Scripture text.
Quoting
The project permits quotations of up to 1,000 verses under its quotation policy, including the limits on complete books and the proportion of the quoting work.
Current Reading Collection
All 66 Protestant books. GIGAKJV is the edition's name; the brand name is not substituted for words spoken in Scripture.
Read a passage in context. Clear English supports understanding; it does not remove the need to examine difficult readings.
