Giga King James Version (GIGAKJV)

The Giga King James Version (GIGAKJV) project is committed to respecting the intellectual property rights of others. Every word and structure in the GIGAKJV has been modernized directly from the public domain 1611 King James Version (KJV) and Strong's Concordance. The GIGAKJV has been developed independently and without reference to or copying from any modern proprietary Bible translations.

However, due to the limited number of natural phrasing options when modernizing the same public domain source text (the Merger Doctrine), some modern verses may share stylistic similarities with other translations.

If you are a copyright owner or an agent thereof and believe that any content in this repository or on the GIGAKJV website infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or a friendly request for modification.

1. Cooperative Resolution Policy (Friendly Modification Requests)

Before filing a formal legal notice, we encourage you to contact us directly. Since the GIGAKJV is an open and ministerially focused project, we will immediately investigate and modify any verse where a claimant shows that our independent modernization has resulted in an excessive or proprietary phrasing overlap with their copyrighted translation.

Please email us at gigakjv@gmail.com with the book, chapter, and verse number, along with the text of the overlapping translation. We will review it and apply a corrective synonym change or grammatical restructure within 48 hours to resolve any concerns.

2. Filing a Formal DMCA Notification

If you choose to file a formal DMCA notice, please send the following information in writing to our designated agent at gigakjv@gmail.com:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
  2. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., specific file path, book, chapter, and verse).
  3. Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  6. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
